Library Services for HDRs

About the College and Research Services Librarians:

We are a small team dedicated to working with Staff, Ph.D. Candidates and students enrolled in the Masters by Research Degree.

We offer workshops, HDR Inductions, one on one appointments, literature and systematic review support, research and advanced searching consultations.

Book a one on one appointment

Book a one on one appointment with a research librarian to discuss your literature reviews, systematic reviews, and advanced searching techniques. You can book a Skype session, you can book a face to face in persona session, or if you provide your preferred phone number on the booking form we are happy to call you at the appointed time. Lastly, you can book a Library induction session tailored to HDRs.

Off campus library services

Off campus library services are available to Flinders University students who fulfill at least one of the following criteria:

  • Students studying fully online or fully externally, or students on placement. 
  • Students who live outside of the Adelaide metropolitan area. 
  • Students who are not based at the Bedford Park campus.

The library can provide you with loans of books delivered via StarTrack couriers. We can also supply copies of journal articles, book chapters and many other resources (within copyright) to your Flinders email address as pdf attachments, You will need to register before you can use the service - to do so please click here.


Off campus Flinders University students can place a request on:

  • Items on the shelf from any Flinders library branch
  • Items on loan to another user
  • Items at another Flinders branch Library which can be sent to you or collected at your preferred branch.

How to place a request:

Once you are registered....

  • Login to Findit@Flinders, search the catalogue and select the book you would like to be sent to you.
  • Select the request button and select "Off Campus Library Service"


  • Items not available in our collection – Staff and Postgraduate students can request items not held in our collection via the Document Delivery Service. Undergraduate students are not eligible for Document Delivery but are able to borrow in person from selected libraries under our Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme.
