MDSC1102: Literature review
Options for saving searches and/or search results
1. Make sure you document your search strategy exactly as you entered it so that you can repeat it, if necessary. Do this in a Word document. You can then copy and paste your search back into a database to rerun it if you need more time to go through the results.
2. You could also follow the database-specific instructions for saving the search strategy to the database itself. This can be fiddly as it involves creating usernames and passwords for each resource. Instructions are provided here for those interested in this option.
3. Save individual citations to an EndNote library (preferred option). You can then use EndNote to retrieve the full text articles and attach them to the relevant citations (the Find Full Text option). Although using EndNote is beyond the scope of this literature searching workshop, you will find instructions for using EndNote in the EndNote Library Subject Guide.
